Cool Rides Online / Gold Eagle Night at Charter Oak Firebirds Show

Charter Oak Firebirds was proud to host our first CoolRidesOnline / Gold Eagle Night on Sat 8/18/12. With the tremendous support of Marcel and the guys at Gold Eagle, we were able to put together an all-Gold Eagle raffle, and in addition to our regular trophies, offer a Cool Rides glass sponsor trophy to one lucky winner! Weather was perfect for a cruise, and we had over 130 cars show up.

It was a tough choice, but the coveted Cool Rides trophy went to Richard Bennett of Berlin CT. Richard’s ’66 Night Watch blue GTO convertible was stunning, especially considering the “before” picture!

The car is a 389 with 4bbl , 335 HP and Turbo 400 tranny. All numbers matching, and PHS documented. Restoration was started a few years back by a former Pontiac employee in Michigan, who ran out of money & time and Richard aquired the car 16 months ago. Since then he has completed the painstaking frame off restoration of this classic. Congrats to Richard on his win, and THANKS to all our cruisers, who really loved the Gold Eagle Prizes!
